Quick Tips

If you don’t have time to peruse the whole site, and just want the highlights, then this is your page!

Cell Phones

1. Keep cell phone conversations as short as possible and only use your cell phone when absolutely necessary.

2. Avoid holding your cell phone next to your head (ear).  This sends microwave energy directly into your brain.  Use the speakerphone option or a headset.

3. Do not use a bluetooth (radio frequency) device in your ear.  If using a headset, keep the actual phone away from your body.

4. Never carry a turned on (with airplane mode OFF) cell phone in your pocket, bra, or belt.  The microwave energy penetrates into your body (and you are carrying it next to some vital organs there).

5. Avoid using a cell phone in cars, trains, planes, subways, elevators, etc.  Not only does the phone have to put out more signal to reach the tower through the metal of whatever you are travelling in, but those around you ar ealso exposed to the energy. (You may also wish to distance yourself from those who choose to use their phones in thes areas).

6. Minimize your use of the cell phone in any area where the reception is weak.  In order to reach the nearest tower, your phone must put out more energy than when the signal is strong.  You are exposed to that extra energy.

7. Whenever possible, avoid using cell phones or tablets to send and receive large files (like movies).  They utilize higher bandwidths and thus generate a bigger field.  Use wired connections to transfer your larger files whenever possible.

Children and Pregnant Moms

1. Babies and children are developing and should not be exposed to radiation of any kind (that’s a best case scenario).

2. Don’t use a cell phone near a babies head.

3. Limit the use of wireless (WiFi) baby monitors (get wired ones instead).

4. Don’t put a cell phone, laptop or tablet (with WiFi or bluetooth turned on) near or on an expectant mothers stomach or lap.

5. Unplug all unneccessary or unused electronic equipment from around your child.

6. Don’t buy cell phones for pre-schoolers or let them use them as toys.

7. Limit your child and teens cell phone use and teach them how to carry them safely.
