MRI Scans

Purpose:  MRI scans are used to see inside of the human body to look for fractures and other bony or soft tissue abnormalities.

Issue:  The MRI machines use electrical energy to generate VERY strong magnetic fields.  This is the heart of how the machine works.  It uses the magnetic field to stand the water atoms of the body up and knock them down.  That is how the image is obtained.  It takes a strong field to do that.

Frequency: Gamma is the gyromagnetic ratio and is a constant unique to every atom. At the magnetic field strengths used in clinical MRI systems, .05 to 2 Tesla, the resonance frequency of hydrogen ranges from 2.13 MHz to 85 MHz.  (this machine produces STRONG electrical AND magnetic fields).

Better choice: Ultrasound is a better choice if possible.
