WiFi

Purpose:

To allow wireless communications between electrical devices. Wi-Fi is convenient but many have raised doubts concerning the safety of unseen forces that permeate everything around us. Since the introduction of Wi-Fi in 1997, researchers have performed dozens of studies to explore the subject. The results are clear and shocking — Wifi can negatively affect overall health and brain health, especially in children.

Perhaps most shocking is that this information is not new or even that controversial. In fact, in 2008 the well-renowned publication Scientific American ran a piece called “Mind Control by Cell Phone” which explained the danger Wi-Fi has on the human brain. Let’s further explore the potential dangers of Wi-Fi with these 10 facts.

Issues:

  • Wi-Fi Dangers Made Worse by Cumulative Effect

Wireless routers – as well as Bluetooth and similar wireless systems – give off electromagnetic radiation in the low-gigahertz frequency. This level is considered potentially dangerous to people. And the danger is compounded by several factors:

  • Just like the wireless signals themselves, the EMFs can pass through walls.
  • Most routers are not turned off at night, so you are exposed 24/7.
  • You are not only exposed to EMFs from your own router. Did you ever search for a wireless signal and see not only your wireless network, but also your neighbor’s and the one from the business down the street? All of them emit EMFs.

Increasingly, scientists and researchers are uncovering the health risks of EMFs. Depending on the level and the length of exposure, those risks can range from insomnia and headaches to tumors.

Frequency Range:

This  list of WLAN channelsis the set of legally allowed wireless local area network channels using IEEE 802.11 protocols, mostly sold under the trademark Wi-Fi.

The 802.11 workgroup currently documents use in five distinct frequency ranges: 2.4 GHz, 3.6 GHz, 4.9 GHz, 5 GHz, and 5.9 GHz bands. Each range is divided into a multitude of channels. Countries apply their own regulations to the allowable channels, allowed users and maximum power levels within these frequency ranges. In some countries, such as the United States, licensed Amateur Radio operators may use some of the channels at much higher power for long distance wireless access.

Better Option:

Wire your electronic devices and turn OFF your WiFi.  (Cat 5 or 6 Ethernet cables) That is the best option.  If this is not an option for you, then limit your WiFi usage:

Turn off ALL devices when not in use.

Use only those devices that are required.

Block/Unplug/Disable all smart devices.

Take extra precautions for pregnant women and children.
